A Beginner’s Guide to Swedish Massage
75You have been working all day, all week, or all month, without an end in sight. You have hardly had a day off. In fact, you are so tired and fatigued that you do not think you will make it another day without yelling at one of your office mates. So what sounds good right now? An alcoholic beverage is a great idea, but so is a Swedish massage. Yes, I knew that would get your attention. If you have ever had one then you know Swedish massage is one of the most relaxing things you can have done to you.
So what, exactly, is Swedish massage? You’ve heard of massage which is essentially the manipulation of soft tissue all over your body to help promote relaxation. More so, massage is crucial to releasing pent up chemicals that are stranded in the muscles and that cause tension all over your body. After a long time of tense working, your muscles will become shortened and tight. If you let them go like this for long periods of time, they will constantly be contracted and cause you headaches, body aches, and any number of discomforts. Massage is the removal of all of the stresses in a person’s life.
Well Swedish massage is close to the same thing, however, it is geared more toward the vigorous stimulation—by hand techniques that follow toward the heart—in order to work the circulatory system as well as relax the muscles. Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage, and many of the fitness clubs offer this as part of their packages. To achieve this effect, the masseuse uses a combination of rolling, kneading, tapping and percussive movements. These movements are combined with oils that can help the hands slide of the skin effortlessly, to give you the most comfortable massage possible.
Sometimes it is hard to get an appointment with a good masseuse, especially during the time you need I the most. Some people do not particularly enjoy others touching them. So what are you supposed to do? What if you knew there was a way to get a great Swedish massage any time you liked with all the same benefits as if you had gone to a professional masseuse? It seems hard to believe, but there are actually Swedish massage chairs and Swedish massage recliners you can purchase that do the same thing as a profession al masseuse!
Imagine yourself with your very own Swedish massage chair, laying back and getting worked on any time you like! Would it not be amazing to end each day of hard toil with a relaxing, rejuvenating massage? You bet it would be. And there are many models and types to choose from. In fact, Swedish massage chairs are becoming quite popular amongst professionals because they understand what it means to be at their best.
Everyone needs a pickup every now and again. You can have one every day if you want. You will probably have a tough time trying to stay awake as your chair runs through its routine, kneading all of your worries away. And if you consider the cost of a professional massage, then you can see where spending $500 or $1000 dollars would be worth it. It would pay itself off in matter of two or three months, so you know it would be well worth the price.
